After all the rain the weather has been pleasant for the past few weeks here in Wootton Courtenay. Spring is a wonderful time of the year, and it is exciting for us to see the effects of the changing season on our glorious new landscape. Pure white snowdrops and golden daffodils are blooming, and the local bees are regular visitors to the garden already in their hunt for early nectar.
Our new chapter is also just around the corner.
Tanya’s ankle is repairing well and there is less of a hobble as we tentatively begin to venture out. Bella enjoyed our stroll around neighbouring Dunster last week, with the chilly waters flowing under Gallox Bridge soothing her aching canine joints and bones. Despite its therapeutic qualities for elderly labradors, Tanya was unconvinced, and her socks and wellies stayed firmly on.
Passing by the Dunster Working Watermill, we popped in to say hello and bought a bag of their splendid mixed muesli – something that will certainly be featuring on our breakfast menu along with their delicious porridge oats.
Back at the house the builders are working hard to finish before we open in March, and we took delivery of our new road sign that will greet guests as they arrive. We think Active Signs in Minehead have done a fantastic job.
On top of everything else our son is about to spread his wings and leave home, to begin his two-year training contract with a firm of solicitors back in Kent. We wish him the very best of luck with all our love.
So, it is all about to happen, and emotions are running high…
