Recent accolades

The Dunkery Beacon Country House was awarded Bronze in the recent South West Tourism Excellence Awards 2021/2022 in the Small Hotel of the Year category against stiff competition from businesses across the whole of the South West. It also won Silver in the Bristol, Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards 2021/22 in the Small Hotel of the Year category.

The Dunkery Beacon Country House was again selected for a full entry in the prestigious 2022 Good Hotel Guide.  Entry into the Guide is on merit alone.  It was also awarded the title of Editor’s Choice” Rooms with a View” 2021 by the Guide and in previous years has bagged Best Walking hotel in both 2019 and 2017.

Also, in May 2021 it was declared a Travellers’ Choice winner putting it in the top 10% of hotels worldwide to receive this accolade from Tripadvisor, and it also received the same accolade in 2020 plus a Certificate of Excellence in every year since 2012.

In 2021 it became the first business in Porlock Vale to achieve a plastic free approved status. The award, which was presented by the Plastic Free Porlock Vale group, is focused on reducing single use plastic and plastic waste and is supported by Surfers Against Sewage.
