Bad beds bug holidaymakers – but not here!

A survey a bit back by a leading bedding company found more than half of us miss our beds and bedding more than our families when we go away on holiday.

The research also revealed peace and home comforts are what make our dream holiday a reality and, of course, all we want from a break is to rest and relax.

More than 75% of those who took part in the survey said fluffy pillows and duvets were more important than a balcony or mini bar in their hotel room. Meanwhile, 41% said a good night’s sleep was essential.

And it’s for all these reasons and more, that we have taken a great deal of care with the furniture and linens we use in all our bedrooms.

We have had many guests give us feedback to say how comfy their beds were during their stay. Many have even asked where our mattresses are from, so they can go and buy one for their own home!

All our rooms have luxury bedding, big fluffy towels and top-notch toiletries. Guests are provided with fresh locally ground Miles coffee and tea from nearby Minehead, plus fresh spring water and fresh milk (not UHT milk jigs!).

Our beds have white Egyptian cotton sheets and guests are offered the option of either synthetic or feather and down bedding. They are pocket sprung and all rooms have homemade shortbread, flat screen TV/DVD player, Pure DAB radio/alarm clocks with either a CD player or an ipod docking station.

Our bathroom towels are thick (either 550 or 600gsm weight), fluffy white made from either Egyptian or Turkish cotton.

The décor and ambience of the hotel is of the very highest of standards too and it is spotlessly clean throughout.

Our owners John and Jane have notched up around 40 years of experience in the catering and hospitality industries between them and are hands-on proprietors, meeting and greeting all guests, personally overseeing all housekeeping and cooking and serving in the restaurant, as well as attending to all guests’ requirements from special dietary needs to advice on local walks. We go that extra mile to make everyone welcome.

We’ve spent the past few years refurbishing and revitalising our hotel’s fortunes and creating a successful restaurant and boutique hotel with an excellent reputation for ambience, customer service and food.

We’re open throughout the weekend to non-residents, serving seasonal dishes with ingredients sourced from nearby and are also a popular function and wedding venue for small, intimate gatherings.

Being a small, friendly, family-run, independent operation we are open to customer requests and requirements. We’re flexible and will go that extra mile to welcome our guests and be accommodating.

Our overriding wish is that all our guests have the very best night’s sleep possible and leave here rested and relaxed.
